SDCC Recap
How was 2026?
Hey all,
We wanted to do a recap of San Diego Comic Con 2026, and share all the cool stuff we saw.
It truly was a great week there, and comic con was definitely flourishing.
Now, I will say that I was disappointed with a couple of things. I never got to meet Ryan Reynolds walking the show floor in his gray Deadpool costume! I would have loved that! Nor did I get to meet Rick Moranis before, during or after his appearance on Space Balls: The Panel! I mean, come on here people!
Aside from that though, it was a great weekend.
From a business standpoint, Dren was in the Small Press area, and we definitely met with a lot of people, and we definitely sold a lot of books. Collectively, we came to the show with like six boxes of our various books, and we left with two (that’s a lot of books we didn’t take home). We sold out of Smokey’s Junior Rangers, Dungeons & Dimwits, and The Poe Murders, all by Friday evening!
We had an awesome signing with Omar Morales (and James Mascia) at our booth for Tales of the Bizarre, and Michael Dolce spoke on not one, but two panels!
So, overall, it was great.
Here’s a quick look at what our booth looked like.
But, it wasn’t all business. We got to have some fun too. I got to walk through the town one day… oh yeah, another disappointment… I missed Johnny Depp as Scrooge. But I did get to see the building he came out of!
And we saw some other cool stuff around town, like this.
I didn’t get a picture, but there was also some guy dressed as Marty McFly just driving around in a DeLorean. Yeah… just driving around.
And then of course, there was cool stuff to see everywhere. Like who wouldn’t want to check out a Blink-182 and Pac-Man mashup (which I still think is a little odd).
But there was so much else.
I have so many more pictures, but I can’t share them all. I will say, however, my favorite was probably the Lego booth with it’s giant interactive displays for Star Wars and Pokémon!
And then, of course, there is the cosplay. I want to show you my absolute favorite one first. Not really sure what they were going for, but they were Ring Wraiths… of a fashion.
And of course, I can’t forget the Geoffrey the Giraffe (yes, of Toys R Us fame), that was just wandering the floor.
But there was so many more cool costumes. Can’t show them all. But here are a few.
Anyway, that was our week at SDCC 2026.
It was a fun time, and we highly recommend if you ever get the chance to head on out. There is so much to do, and so much to see.
We will be heading back for 2027!
Thanks all!
STAY AWESOME!!!
